Leicester’s Harry Ellis has been cited over a challenge on Perpignan star Dan Carter when the two sides clashed in the Heineken Cup last Sunday.
Carter, who was making his debut for Perpignan, was elevated six feet into the air from the tackle and landed awkwardly, leaving Match commissioner Iain Goodall with little choice but to cite Ellis.
After the match Carter admitted he was lucky to escape without injury but added, “I was very thankful that I wasn’t hurt. It was pretty scary up there and I had no control over how I was going to land.”
