Wasps offer fans best value for money

September 4, 2008 by kingtom · Leave a Comment

According to research from ACCA, Wasps offer their fans the best value for money when it comes to the price of their season tickets.

The results are calculated by taking each team’s value in terms of players and assets, dividing that value by the cost of the mid-range season ticket from that team, and multiplying the result by 100.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the bottom four teams in terms of value for money are the bookies favourites to finish at the foot of the Guinness Premiership table.

The full value for money table reads:

Team Points
London Wasps         42.3
Bath Rugby              36.0
Harlequins              35.2
Gloucester Rugby    33.3
Leicester Tigers       32.3
Sale Sharks              26.4
London Irish            23.7
Saracens                  23.3
Bristol Rugby           19.6
Newcastle Falcons   17.1
Northampton Saints 15.2
Worcester Warriors   14.4

Wasps and England fly-half Danny Cipriani believes he’ll be back in action by October if his rehabilitation continues to progress well.

The 20-year-old suffered a horrendous ankle injury at the end of last season but believes he is well ahead of schedule to make his return.

He commented to the BBC, I have been running for three weeks and I’m hoping to be playing at the end of October. If things keep going as well as they have been, that’s where I will be. If it goes well, it could be sooner.”

Wasps and England star Danny Cipriani is targeting a return to action by the end of November, following his horror injury picked up against Bath late on in the season.

The fly-half suffered a fracture dislocation of his right ankle in what was one of the worst injuries seen all year.

However, Cipriani remains positive and believes he can make a swift return and force his way back into the England team.

He commented, “I’m not setting myself an exact game, but late November would be a good comeback for me from the injury.”
