RFU conduct their own England investigation

The RFU will hold their own internal investigation into the conduct of England players while on tour in New Zealand.

Auckland police continue to investigate a claim that four England players were involved in a sexual assault on a woman despite the fact the men in question have now returned home.

However, the RFU are not happy that England players were allowed to venture out on a heavy drinking session, before escorting women back to the team hotel.

A statement from the RFU stated,

“Wearing the white shirt is a great honour that brings with it great rewards but also carries great responsibilities. In the age of celebrity, England players must always be aware of their position and the dangers that may exist for them at all times.”
