England coach Martin Johnson has praised Josh Lewsey after the Wasps’ man decided to retire from international rugby.
Lewsey, 32, was left out of the Autumn tests and has failed to pin down a regular starting position since the successful 2003 World Cup campaign.
However, Johnson believes Lewsey has been a tremendous player to England and he added, “I know from first-hand experience what an asset Josh was to England over an international career that spanned 10 years, over 50 caps and two Rugby World Cups, including the 2003 final, and it was a pleasure to play alongside him.”
