Gloucester star out of England Tests

James Simpson-Daniel has been ruled out of England’s forthcoming Tests because of ankle ligament damage and is set for three months on the sidelines.

Its a cruel blow for the 26-year-old winger who has been in sparkling form over the last year, culminating in his Guinness Premiership Player of the Year Award for the 2007/08 season.

Martin Johnson was disappointed to hear Simpson-Daniel wouldn’t be available and added, “The coaching and medical teams from Gloucester and England will be in regular contact with him during his recovery and rehabilitation.”
