Harry Ellis has been given a one week ban from his club Leicester, following a tackle on New Zealand captain Dan Carter last weekend.
Ellis, who might face further disciplinary action from the European Rugby Cup committee, will now definitely miss the match against Newcastle Falcons this weekend.
A club statement from Leicester read, “The club accepts Harry’s view that there was no malice and no intent in his actions. Harry is sorry that the incident happened and he would like to apologise to Dan Carter in respect of the incident.”
