Booth relieved after dramatic Irish win

London Irish coach Toby Booth admitted he was relieved after his side fought back to claim a famous 27-28 victory against Harlequins.

Delon Armitage was the hero for Irish as he claimed two tries to overturn the 20-8 half-time deficit and Booth recognised the importance of his performance.

He commented,

“The try from Delon Armitage just before half-time was vital. If we’d gone in 20-3 down rather than 20-8 it would be a different game. We showed an inner desire and determination and if you want to challenge for trophies that is the kind of performance you have to put in.”
